Cabernet Franc Doc del Piave

From the area around Bordeaux in France, the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon vines are perfectly at home in the Piave area producing a variety called Cabernet del Piave Doc. One of the most popular wines, it can be drunk young or after aging. Cabernet del Piave can be considered a Riserva or Reserve if it meets the requirements set out in the regulations.


Colour
Strong ruby red, almost purple if aged.
Fragrance
Vinous (winey), intense, typical and pleasant.
Flavour
Dry, sapid (tasty), full-bodied, slightly green, nicely tannic, harmonious and typical.
Alcohol
Minimum 11 percent.
Ideal age
2-3 years.
Temperature
Should be served between 18 - 20 degrees.
Affinities
The foods that best bring out the characteristics of this wine are larger lunch dishes: white and red roast meats, fowl and game. From Treviso cuisine Cabernet del Piave Doc goes best with roast duck and, in late autumn, with the traditional local dish of roast goose with celery.
